Leaving the house for the airport
At the pickup time the car pulls up where your request told it to: the front of the house, the alley by the rear garage, or the side street. The company's driver comes to that spot, loads the bags, and heads for the terminal you named. At DFW that means the departures curb of your terminal; at Love Field, the upper-level curb by the ticketing hall. The company allows 15 minutes of free wait at the address.
Have the bags by the door and your phone switched on a few minutes early. Before dawn, leave the porch light on or the garage light burning, so the driver can match the house number to the address in the request. Locking up and setting the alarm is easier once the car is already waiting outside, and it keeps the start on schedule for everyone.
Coming home after a late landing
For the ride back, with your flight number in the request, the company counts the free wait from the landing: 30 minutes after a domestic flight, 45 after an international arrival at DFW. The driver meets you in the pickup spot named in the company's text, then heads straight to the side of the house you picked. After midnight most blocks are dark and quiet, so the note about where to stop matters even more than it did on the way out.
If someone at home is asleep, mention it in the request. You can ask for the car to stop in the alley by the garage, so slamming doors and rolling bags stay away from the bedroom windows. A lit side door or an open garage also helps the driver spot the right house on a street where every lawn looks alike at night.
What your request should say
Start with the street address, then add a line about the spot. - A phone number you will have with you on the day
Mix-ups at a house, and how to head them off
Most missed pickups at a house come down to the wrong side of the block. The car idles at the front curb while the rider waits by the garage in the alley, and each one assumes the other is late. A second snag is a dark porch before dawn, when the numbers on a row of similar homes are hard to read from the street.
A third trouble spot is the driveway itself. A long drive, a parked boat or a basketball hoop can leave a van nowhere to turn, and backing out onto a busy street with a full load is slow. If the curb suits a larger car better, write that down, and the driver will wait there instead.
One clear line in the request heads off all three. Once you accept the fare, the company's written confirmation arrives by text, and by email when you gave one, with the car, the meeting point and its own phone line for the day of the ride. Check the meeting point in that message, and if it says the front when you meant the alley, call that line before the pickup time.
